(the greenhouse that is)

The poinsettia plant is a popular decorative addition to American homes during the Christmas season. First introduced to the United States in 1825 when namesake, Joel Roberts Poinsett, the first U.S. ambassador to Mexico, brought the plant home to South Carolina.

Most will recognize the classic variety with red and green foliage. These of course are beautiful but if you haven’t seen other varieties, you are in for a treat when you visit Cerbo’s and see the large assortment of novelty poinsettias in many colors and varieties now growing in the greenhouse.

Also note that although poinsettias have a reputation for being toxic to pets, that has been proven to be untrue.

Here is a look at some of the varieties currently available in different sizes.

  • Prestige Red
  • Princettia Sparkling Rouge
  • Candy Cinnamon
  • Superba New Glitter
  • White Star
  • Christmas Beauty Marble
  • Early Elegance Pink
  • Christmas Cheer White
  • Brilliant White
  • Mars Pink
  • Early Elegance Marble
  • Enduring Red/White combination
